Pet Insurance is a must for any responsible dog or cat owner. With the cost of vet's fees continuing to rise it is now more important than ever to ensure that you have some form of pet insurance cover in place just in case the unexpected happens. To make your life a little easier when looking for the right insurance for your pet we have broken the types of insurance down in to three main areas, time capped pet insurance, per condition pet insurance and life pet insurance. Time capped plans are usually the cheapest, but also offer the most limited cover. You will be given a maximum benefit for which you can claim up to on vets fees within a 12 month policy period. So for example if your pet suffered from a serious skin condition that may need further treatment after 12 months you would not be able to make any further claims on this type of plan as the condition would  more often than not be excluded upon renewal of the policy. Per Condition plans tend to be more expensive than time capped, however the vets fees cover is more comprehensive. The policy will still carry a maximum benefit you can claim up to for each condition, but you will be able to claim for each condition up until you have reached that limit. Lifetime Cover Plans or life pet insurance, the most comprehensive type of pet insurance available. These plans usually provide cover for each and every condition up to the maximum benefit within the policy year. It is then replenished for the next policy year as long as you renew your policy and pay your premium. This can continue for the rest of your pets life and is ideal for serious conditions such as arthritis. This type of insurance is not cheap but does provide great peace of mind.
